My mother country Sri Lanka
My mother country is Sri Lanka. It is a beautiful island located in the Indian ocean. It is called the pearl of the Indian ocean. It is a beautiful paradise. Sri Lanka has a great and rich history. In the past, Sri Lanka was known as the Granary of the East. At that time, Sri Lanka was a strong kingdom in the world. Now, Sri Jayawardhanapura Kotte is the capital city of our country.
Our traditional greeting style is saying aubowanπand some people are doing shake hands. The people of my country are called the Sri Lankans. Sri Lanka has a 20 million population. It has a land area of 65,610 square kilometres (km2). There are many tourist attractions in our mother country. Some of them are the Temple of the tooth, Sigiriya, Sinharaja rain forest, Atamasthanaya, Sri Mahabodhiya, Nuwara Eliya, waterfalls, rivers and many places. We have a valuable and respectable heritage.
The national flag of Sri Lanka has four yellow colour bo leaves on a maroon colour background. There is a lion on the flag and a yellow colour line, green and orange colours are on the flag. Sinhala is the official language of Sri Lanka. The national flower of Sri Lanka is the blue water lily. My country has wonderful biodiversity. Sri Lankan rupees are the currency of Sri Lanka. We have a fast-growing economy. The people live in my country peacefully. I love my mother country so much.
